Choose the service level that fits your business
Expanding into Europe means tax registration, product compliance, producer responsibility, listings, translations and local stock, in the right order. Every plan below covers the same programme of work on the same platform. What changes is how much of it you drive. Some brands have someone in-house to own the day to day and want the lightest possible touch. Others want a dedicated account manager to lean on. Others want a senior consultant in the room from the start.

This is what a European launch involves. The question is who drives it
Below is the programme of work behind every Expandly launch. It is substantial, it is sequenced, and most of it has a deadline attached. Reading it is the fastest way to work out which plan you need, because the honest question is not whether you can access this. It is who in your business is going to steer it, week after week, while also running the rest of your company.
Your onboarding programme
Completed once, at the start, before you sell a unit.
- VAT registration in every market you are opening, then filing managed inside the platform
- EPR enrolment across the packaging, electronics, battery and textile schemes your products trigger
- Label reviews against the rules for your category, so listings are not pulled after launch
- Responsible Person appointed where your category legally requires one
- Listings import and setup with translations, so your catalogue arrives ready to sell
- Omni-channel setup connecting your marketplaces, your site and your fulfilment
Your platform, every day after
The system you run Europe from, and the decisions it puts in front of you.
- Order management across every channel in one place, not one tab per marketplace
- Reporting suite showing how each market performs, what moves and where margin goes
- Expandly AI (coming soon) for guidance and recommendations as you trade
- Triggers and alerts on compliance deadlines, stock positions and trading events
- API access so your existing tech stack connects without a rebuild
- Trading newsletter and knowledgebase keeping you ahead of what changes
Your wider network
Other brands trading the same markets, and the people who know them.
- Expanders Community enrolment, alongside brands a step or two ahead of you
- Annual Expandly Roadshow access, with ticket allocation rising by plan
- Priority warehouse access in the Netherlands and the UK
- Compliance monitoring as rules change, so nothing lapses quietly
Three ways to get through it
You drive
Someone on your team takes the wheel, works the onboarding wizard and the knowledgebase, and sets the pace. It works, and it works well, but only if that person has real time to give it. This is a job, not a task on a list.
We navigate, you drive
An expert who has run this hundreds of times tells you what today’s job is, what can wait and what will bite you in six weeks. You still make the calls. You stop losing hours working out which call to make, and you stop discovering problems after they have cost you something.
We drive alongside you
A senior consultant works ahead of you rather than beside you. Market research, replenishment and peak plans, margin analysis and written recommendations arrive prepared, so your team spends its time deciding rather than assembling. Proactive, not responsive.
Knowing what needs doing is the easy part. Having the time and the experience to do it well is where brands come unstuck.
Setup happens once. The decisions carry on every quarter
Registrations get done whichever plan you pick. Where the plans really separate is afterwards, in the run of judgement calls that follows every launch. How much stock goes to the Netherlands and when. Whether you are inbounding to Amazon early enough to be received before peak. Which market earns the next tranche of budget. Whether a margin dip is pricing, shipping or returns. Those decisions repeat every year you trade, and they scale with your revenue.
Self-Serve
You make the calls yourself, using the reporting suite, the market intelligence and Expandly AI. The data is all there. Reading it well is on you.
Guided
Your quarterly reviews are spent on exactly these decisions, showing you which signals matter for your products and how to use the tools to spot them early.
VIP
We run the research on your behalf and bring custom proposals and proactive recommendations, before you have had to ask the question.
What sits outside the monthly fee
Some costs in an expansion belong to a tax office, a compliance scheme or a carrier rather than to us. We keep them separate on purpose. Folding them into the headline price would mean charging brands with simple product ranges for obligations they will never trigger. What we do instead is tell you exactly which apply to you, and what each one costs, before you sign anything.
Authority and registration fees
Some tax authorities and national registries charge a processing fee to open your account. We tell you which ones apply to your markets and what they come to, before you commit.
Producer responsibility scheme fees
EPR schemes charge membership plus an annual contribution based on the weight and material you put on the market. Your total depends on your product range.
Testing and certification
Where a product needs lab testing, a safety assessment or category certification, an accredited third party does that work. We scope it, brief them and manage the process, and you see the cost before it starts.
Storage, pick and pack, and freight
Billed on what you actually store and ship. Guided gets preferential 3PL rates and VIP gets VIP rates, so this line falls as your plan rises. We model it with you before launch.
Duty and import VAT
Set by the destination country and paid to it. We tell you what your classification means per unit, so landed cost is known before your first container moves.
Extra markets and extra scope
Countries beyond the UK, Germany and the Netherlands are priced per market by plan. Anything genuinely outside scope, such as a new product line needing its own compliance route, is quoted before work starts.
You will know which of these apply to you before you commit
During discovery we map your product range against every market you are considering, then give you a written schedule of the third-party costs you will actually face. Where we cannot yet be precise, we say so and give you the range.
Filed to pass first time
Our team completes the forms and assembles the supporting documents against what each authority actually accepts. A rejected application costs weeks, and weeks cost revenue.
Identified during onboarding
Authority fees, scheme contributions and testing charges are worked through with you as part of onboarding, so each one is understood before it lands.
Written before you sign
The schedule of likely additional costs forms part of your proposal, not a conversation after onboarding starts.
Before you book a call
Why a 36-month term?
Registrations alone can take months, and the return on that setup work shows up in years two and three. A shorter term would mean pricing the setup separately and charging far more for it up front.
Can we move up a plan later?
Yes. Brands often start on Self-Serve and move to Guided once volume grows and the number of decisions outpaces the time they have. Your platform and data stay exactly as they are.
What if we only want one country?
The base package covers the UK, Germany and the Netherlands because those three cover most European demand and share the same infrastructure. Launch in one first and switch the others on when you are ready.
How quickly can we be selling?
It depends on category and registrations. German VAT runs around eight weeks. Some categories need testing that takes longer. You get a realistic date at proposal stage.
A straight conversation about what this would look like for your brand
Thirty minutes with someone who has taken brands like yours into Europe. No pitch deck, no obligation to go anywhere near a contract.
- Which markets make sense first for your category, and why
- What your product range actually triggers in compliance terms
- A realistic timeline to your first local order
- The third-party fees you would face, in writing
- Which service level fits how your team is set up
