Integrations · TikTok Shop
Turn a viral hour into orders you can actually ship.
TikTok Shop is open to sellers in ten European markets, and it does something no other channel does. It creates the demand rather than capturing it. A single video can move a quarter’s stock in an afternoon, which is the opportunity, and the same channel then measures your fulfilment against a tolerance where a stockout counts as your fault. Your stock sits in our European warehouses, your TikTok Shop orders run through the same system as every other channel you sell on, and the compliance work each category needs is already done. That is what keeps the channel open to you after the video works.
Ten European markets open to sellers, four of them only since June 2026
A physical in-market return address is required to register. No PO boxes.
Seller-fault cancellations capped at 2.5% over any rolling seven days
Regular orders dispatched within two business days
Where it is actually live
Ten markets, and four of them are new
Worth getting precise about before you plan anything, because the map changed twice in eighteen months and it is not the whole of Europe. Ten markets out of roughly thirty.
Late 2021
United Kingdom
The mature market by a wide margin, and the one with a genuine buyer base rather than a new storefront. Over 200,000 small and medium businesses now sell here, and TikTok reports more than 6,000 TikTok Shop LIVEs hosted daily.
Late 2024
Spain, Ireland
Ireland runs as its own market with its own seller centre, not as part of the UK. A UK registration does not let you serve Irish customers, and Ireland sits under EU law rather than UK law.
31 March 2025
Germany, France, Italy
The three largest continental launches. TikTok reports over 100,000 European businesses now on TikTok Shop across these three plus Spain and Ireland, and triple-digit growth in daily gross merchandise value between August 2025 and February 2026. No base figure was published alongside that growth rate.
15 June 2026
Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland
The newest four. Sellers could register from June 2026, while TikTok put the in-app Shop Tab rollout to users in these markets at July 2026, so the seller side opened ahead of the buyer side. These are a position to take early rather than a market to forecast.
Market and launch dates from TikTok’s own newsroom announcement of 28 May 2026 and corroborating trade coverage, recorded in the Channel Intelligence entry for TikTok Shop. Not open to sellers as at August 2026: the Nordics, Portugal, Switzerland, and central and eastern Europe beyond Poland. TikTok also announced a “Sell Across Europe” feature alongside the June launches, letting a seller registered in one EU market sell into others. We have not been able to confirm its scope for non-EU sellers, so nothing on this page assumes it.
On the size of it
What can be said honestly, and what cannot
You will find TikTok Shop revenue figures quoted everywhere. Almost none of them trace to a source that publishes a method, so here is the position rather than a headline.
What gets quoted
A big number with no method behind it
Global GMV figures circulate in ranges wide enough to be useless, and the most-cited UK social commerce projection is research commissioned by TikTok and published in June 2024. It is over two years old.
TikTok has published no UK or European GMV figure at all. Anyone quoting one is estimating.
What TikTok has actually disclosed
Seller counts, activity, and growth without a baseline
Over 200,000 UK small and medium businesses selling. More than 6,000 UK live shopping streams a day. Over 100,000 European businesses on the channel across five continental markets. Triple-digit growth in daily GMV across those markets between August 2025 and February 2026, from an unstated base.
TikTok’s own 2025 trend report puts TikTok Shop as the UK’s fourth-largest beauty retailer. That is a platform claim rather than an audited figure, and it is still the most useful single data point on this page.
Our own view, for what it is worth: the growth is real and the sizing is not knowable from outside. If a channel decision needs a number to justify it, this is the wrong channel to justify that way. Decide it on category fit and on whether you can hold the operational standard, which are both knowable.
The mechanic that decides it
Why running out of stock is worse here than anywhere else
On Amazon, a stockout costs you the sale and some ranking. On TikTok Shop it starts a chain that can remove your access to the thing generating the demand. This is the single most important thing to understand before you open a shop.
Step one
Demand arrives as a spike
Not a forecastable curve. One video or one live stream, and the order volume for a single line can multiply overnight with no warning and no way to pre-plan the timing.
Step two
You cancel what you cannot ship
A cancellation for a stock issue is a seller-fault cancellation. The tolerance is 2.5% of orders across any rolling seven-day period, and missed dispatch deadlines feed the same metric.
Step three
Your shop gets throttled
Breaching the threshold brings order volume limits first, then deactivation for persistent breach. It also pulls down your Shop Performance Score, which customers can see on your profile.
Step four
The demand engine closes
A low Shop Performance Score restricts eligibility for the creator affiliate programme, campaigns and auctions. The mechanism that created the spike is now unavailable to you.
That is the trap. The spike costs you the orders you could not ship, then it costs you the creator programme that produced them, and the whole thing can happen inside a week.
Thresholds and metric definitions from TikTok Shop’s own seller documentation, recorded with sources in the Channel Intelligence entry. Regular orders must be dispatched within two business days of the order date and scanned by a carrier to count. Late dispatch carries its own escalating penalties, including longer settlement periods, which means TikTok holds your cash for longer while your metrics recover. Shops using TikTok’s own fulfilment are exempt from the cancellation-rate metric, which tells you how seriously the platform takes it.
Category reality
Does your category work here, and will they let you list it?
Performance and permission are two different questions here, and a category can be strong on one while gated on the other. Both need answering before you build a listing.
Your brand
Does it perform?
Listing status, UK
What that means in practice
Beauty & Personal Care
The strongest category on the channel, in the UK and continental Europe both. Live demonstration suits it.
Images of the physical packaging and label showing ingredients, country of origin and durability dates, before you can list.
Health, Wellness & Nutrition
Strong conversion where it is allowed through.
Supplements and pre-packaged foods need onboarding approval rather than paperwork, and CBD needs a certificate of analysis plus novel food approval. This is the hardest gate on the channel.
Technology & Electronics
Works where the product demonstrates. A visible before and after beats a spec sheet.
UKCA or CE marking images required, and the user manual itself has to carry the marking. Anything with a battery also lands in dangerous goods.
Fashion, Apparel & Accessories
Mixed. Visually distinctive pieces perform, basics do not. Womenswear is the second-largest UK category.
The lightest route in of the seven, though return rates and sizing behaviour still apply as they do anywhere.
Home, Garden & Lifestyle
Third tier by UK sales, behind beauty and womenswear, but present and growing.
Power tools and some garden lines are caught separately as invite-only, so a broad range needs checking line by line.
Sports, Fitness & Active

We could not find performance data for this category on TikTok Shop in Europe, so we are not going to tell you it works. Safety workwear is separately restricted. Ask us and we will look at your specific range.
Multi-category portfolios
Depends entirely on which lines you lead with.
The practical work is sequencing: open with the lines that are cleared, and run the gated categories through approval behind them.
Listing statuses are from TikTok Shop’s published UK restricted products policy as at August 2026. The equivalent EU policy exists separately and we could not read it at the time of writing, so do not assume the UK list transfers market for market. Category rules on this channel change, and we check the current position for your specific range at onboarding rather than working from a page.
Before you can register
What TikTok Shop asks for that a US brand does not already have
Most of this is straightforward if you already trade in Europe. If you do not, the return address is the item with no workaround.
A return address in the market
Physical, in-market, and not a PO box. Required at registration for the UK and separately for the EU. This is the single hardest requirement for a brand with no European presence, and it is exactly what a European warehouse is.
A warehouse address their systems accept
The address has to validate against mapping data or your catalogue will not sync. A real building with a real postcode, which sounds obvious until a virtual address fails verification.
VAT registration where it is triggered
There is no threshold protecting an overseas seller. The obligation starts as soon as you hold stock for sale in a market, not when you reach a turnover figure.
The right entity route, chosen once
Registration type cannot easily be changed afterwards. There is a cross-border route that accepts your US entity and a local route that needs a local company, bank account and address. They carry different category and fulfilment access.
Product compliance for the destination
An EU Responsible Person, CE or UKCA marking where it applies, and the trader details that European product safety law requires on the listing. The cross-border route waives none of this.
Category documentation, in advance
See the table above. Gathering label images, declarations of conformity and certificates after you have built the listing is the slow way round.
One consequence worth stating plainly. A US brand cannot run a single TikTok Shop for all of Europe from a US base. It either registers cross-border market by market, with the category and fulfilment access that route carries, or it establishes local footing. Which is right for you depends on your range and your markets, and it is the first thing we work out together.
Tax
TikTok collects some of the VAT. Your registrations still follow your stock.
The assumption
The marketplace handles it
And in defined cases it genuinely does. TikTok Shop acts as deemed supplier for UK sales of goods held outside the UK at or under £135, and in the EU for imported consignments at or under €150 and for business-to-consumer sales where the seller is not established in the EU.
So the customer-facing VAT on a large share of your sales is collected and remitted by the platform. That part is true.
What it does not cover
Your registrations follow your stock
Holding goods in a country creates a registration obligation there whether or not the platform collects the VAT at checkout. Inventory placement drives it, and there is no threshold for an overseas seller.
Union OSS centralises eligible intra-EU distance sales, and it does not replace local registrations where stock sits, or cover imports. Imports at or under €150 need an intermediary arrangement of their own.
On packaging and producer responsibility, TikTok runs a pay-on-behalf service in France, Italy and Spain only. It does not cover Germany, the largest continental market, where you need your own packaging registration. And it is opt-out by default, so ignoring it means paying TikTok’s fees rather than your own.
The practical read: the platform handles a slice of the tax and none of the registrations. We hold the registrations, file the returns and keep the producer responsibility side straight, which is what turns this from an exposure into an administrative task.
What we handle
The operational floor this channel demands
Everything above is a fulfilment and compliance problem wearing a marketing channel’s clothes. That is the part we do.
Stock in region, dispatched inside the window
Your inventory sits at our Netherlands warehouse for EU orders and our UK warehouses for UK orders. Both run to the dispatch window this channel measures, so orders are picked, packed and handed to a carrier inside it. That single metric is what everything else on the channel hangs off.
Returns to a real address, handled locally
The in-market return address the platform requires at registration is a working returns operation, not a forwarding label. Returns are assessed on arrival, then restocked or reworked in region.
One stock position across every channel
TikTok Shop draws on the same pool as your Amazon, marketplace and own-store orders, with levels updated centrally as orders land anywhere. Separate buffers per channel are how a viral hour turns into a cancellation.
Registrations and documentation, kept current
VAT and producer responsibility registrations in the markets you sell and store in, Responsible Person appointment, label review, and the category evidence pack the channel asks for before it lets you list.
Sample stock for creator seeding
Getting product into creators’ hands is how the channel works, and it needs stock already in market. Sample and seeding despatches run out of the same warehouse as your customer orders.
Headroom for the spike
Low stock thresholds set per line, alerts before a gap becomes a cancellation, and replenishment planned against the volatility this channel actually has rather than a smooth forecast.
Alongside your own store
Where this sits alongside your DTC expansion
This channel gates by category, and for three of the brand types we work with the gate is real. Supplements and pre-packaged foods need onboarding approval rather than documentation. Beauty and electronics need evidence packs before a listing goes up. Registration itself needs a physical in-market return address.
Your own store needs none of that permission. It can be selling the same products in the same market while a category application is with TikTok, and it gives creator-led demand somewhere to land if a category is never opened to you. The stock in region that satisfies TikTok’s dispatch window is the same stock that serves your store, and the return address is the same address.
The safest way to build for a gated channel is to own a channel that is not.
Global Expansion Pathway™
Why social comes last in the sequence
TikTok Shop sits in the Omni-Channel stage of the Global Expansion Pathway™, delivered as the E-commerce Expansion Multiplier™, and within that stage it comes last for a reason. The sequence we work to is platform first, marketplace layered deliberately, social activated strategically. Social commerce is the least forgiving of the three because it is the only one where demand arrives faster than you can react to it. Andy Hooper’s line on this predates the channel and still describes it exactly: viral demand without stock destroys momentum. Everything in the Compliance and Logistics stages is what makes the spike survivable.

The bigger picture
Content gets you discovered here. Fulfilment decides whether you stay.
Video is the part of this channel that gets talked about, and it is where most of the advice goes. The part that decides whether a shop compounds or gets throttled is duller. Stock in the right country. An order out of the door inside two business days. A return address that works, and category documentation on file before a listing needs it. The channel publishes its thresholds openly, so the standard is knowable and it is meetable. It is not meetable from a warehouse six thousand kilometres away.
• Stock in region, so the dispatch window is comfortable rather than heroic
• A real in-market return address, which registration requires before you sell anything
• One stock position across every channel, so a spike on one does not oversell another
• Category documentation gathered before launch, not after a listing is blocked
• Registrations that follow your stock, including the German packaging obligation the platform does not cover
• Sample inventory in market, because creator seeding is the demand engine
We have taken more than 2,000 brands into new markets. On this channel the work that decides the outcome happens before the first video goes out.
The tolerance
Seller-fault cancellations allowed across any rolling seven-day window before order limits and then deactivation. A stockout counts.

The dispatch window
Regular orders must be dispatched and carrier-scanned within this window from the order date, or the metrics start moving.

Where this sits in a channel mix
This channel leans on foundations built elsewhere. The registrations, the in-region stock and the compliance file that let you sell here are the same ones your other channels need, which is why the order you add channels in changes what each one costs you.

3PL fulfilment in the UK and EU
The dispatch window, the return address and the sample stock are all one warehouse question. On this channel it is the deciding one.
Questions
What brands ask before they commit
Can I sell across Europe from one TikTok Shop?
Not from a US base, no. You register either cross-border per market or locally per market, and the two routes carry different category and fulfilment access. TikTok announced a feature to let a seller registered in one EU market sell into others, and we have not been able to confirm its scope for sellers based outside the EU, so we plan without relying on it.
Should I use TikTok's own fulfilment instead?
You do not have to choose it. We fulfil TikTok Shop orders from our UK and Netherlands warehouses, both run to the dispatch window the channel measures. TikTok’s own fulfilment does exist in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, and shops using it are exempt from the cancellation-rate metric, which is a genuine advantage worth weighing. Its continental rollout was reported as aimed at sellers in Asia, so whether it is open to a US-based brand is worth checking rather than assuming. Bring your markets to the call and we will map both routes against your range.
My category is invite-only. Is that a dead end?
No, it is a queue with an evidence requirement, which is the kind of thing we do. Supplements and pre-packaged foods need onboarding approval rather than documentation alone, so the sensible route is usually to launch the cleared lines first and run the gated ones through approval behind them.
Can I reuse the content we already run on Meta?
You can, and the evidence is that it underperforms. This channel rewards native vertical video produced continuously rather than campaign assets repurposed. That is a creative capacity question for your team, and it is worth being honest with yourself about it before you open a shop, because the operational cost starts on day one either way.
What does the commission cost?
Rates have moved, including a step change in the EU in January 2026, and published figures disagree with each other. We will give you the current position for your categories and markets rather than a number off a web page that may already be wrong.
Find out whether this channel is ready for you
Thirty minutes on your categories, your markets and your current fulfilment. You will leave knowing which of your lines can list, what has to exist before you register, and whether your operation can hold the standard the channel enforces.
This page is general guidance and not advice on your brand’s specific position. TikTok changes its market coverage, seller requirements, category rules, fees and fulfilment programmes frequently, and several of the figures here are the platform’s own disclosures rather than audited data. Confirm anything programme-specific in TikTok Shop Seller Centre or with us before you act on it, and talk to our compliance team about how tax, producer responsibility and product safety rules apply to your products and markets before you make a filing, a registration or a launch decision.
