EU AI Act Full Enforcement Begins August 2, 2026

The EU AI Act reaches full application on August 2, 2026. For ecommerce brands, Article 50 transparency obligations cover AI chatbots, shopping assistants, and AI-generated product content visible to EU consumers. Less than a third of ecommerce companies have started compliance work.
EU Packaging Regulation: 72 Days for Ecommerce Brands to Comply

EU Regulation 2025/40, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, becomes mandatory on August 12, 2026. For ecommerce brands, the most immediate requirements are a 40% maximum void fill cap on parcels, a ban on PFAS above 25 parts per billion in food-contact packaging, and a mandatory Authorised Representative per EU member state. Online marketplaces including Amazon DE are confirmed responsible actors, making non-compliance a de-listing risk as well as a regulatory one.
Every EU Parcel From Outside Now Carries a Customs Charge

The EU’s €150 duty-free exemption ends in four weeks. In its place is a €3 charge, applied per tariff heading within each consignment. Not as a single flat fee per parcel.
