EU Right to Repair Directive Takes Effect July 31, 2026 – What US Brands Selling Covered Products Must Have in Place
The EU Right to Repair Directive must be in national law by 31 July 2026. From that date, consumers can demand repairs at a reasonable price, and brands selling covered electronics and appliances must keep spare parts available for 7 to 10 years. There is no exemption for US brands without an EU presence.
